Army Trucks on Day of Forced Removal

As the trip to Manzanar wore on, the soldiers and Bainbridge Island Nikkei got to know one another and became friendly. The soldiers helped carry luggage and they entertained the children on the train ride by leading them in songs and games. Several even became pen pals with young Bainbridge women.
