Volunteer Work Day at the Exclusion Memorial

80 Years of Healing

Help beautify Pritchard Park in advance of 80 Years of Healing, the March 30, 2022 observance of the forced wartime exclusion of Japanese Americans from Bainbridge Island.

What to bring:

We suggest volunteers wear sturdy, close-toed shoes, long pants, and work gloves. Please also bring your own water bottle if you’d like one. The BI Park District will provide any (sanitized) tools volunteers will need, but feel free to bring your favorite tool, too.

* Please bring a mask & proof of vaccination to participate.

Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial

The Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial is an outdoor exhibit commemorating the internment of Japanese Americans from Bainbridge Island in the state of Washington. The memorial is a joint effort of the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial Assn, Bainbridge Island Japanese American Community, Bainbridge Island Historical Museum, and Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park and Recreation District. It is a unit of the Minidoka National Historic Site in Idaho.
