Tell A Story Without Saying Anything

College application assignment: “Submit a 3 minute silent video telling a story without saying anything.” Easy peasy, right? This was one of the daunting tasks facing Kai Uyekawa as he forged his way through college application season this past fall.

Ever resourceful, Kai, a graduating senior at Bainbridge High School, chose his topic, created the concept, and recruited his dad–BIJAC Trustee Keith Uyekawa–to star in Resonance, his original 3-minute video. The result is poignant.

Not surprisingly, Kai was accepted at St. John’s University in Queens, NY, where he will study film editing in the fall. His talent is undeniable, and his future is bright. Our community joins proud thespian Keith Uyekawa and mother Lynn Brunelle in congratulating Kai and wishing him much success in the future.
