BIJAC Picnic 2021

The Biennial BIJAC Picnic was held on Sunday, August 7th, at its traditional home, the Battle Point Park picnic shelter. Under cool and mostly cloudy skies, turnout was strong, with families gathering from both sides of the Sound. Hayashidas, Matsudairas, Sakumas, and more families with deep ties to the Island met up for an obscene amount of delicious food including big, plump, fresh blueberries…ahhh, the blueberries! Also spotted were Reid Hansen, Jerry Elfendahl, and other historians and long-time friends of BIJAC.

Rest assured, there were plenty of “newcomers” to the Island in attendance, as well as yonsei, ensuring that the future of the picnic. See you in two years!
