Back of Wooden Sign Carved in Manzanar

“Nag,” Ichiro Nagatani’s nickname, is carved to indicate who made this sign. Used to working all day on their farms, many of the Islanders sought work or took up hobbies such as carving to keep them occupied. Many of the older Issei took courses in English language, needlework, sewing, or cooking.
