Help Pass the Amache National Historic Site Act

Senator Bennet of Colorado has been trying to seek passage of the Amache National Historic Site Act through unanimous consent in the Senate before February 19, our Day of Remembrance. Unfortunately, Senator Lee from Utah has been seeking an amendment requiring an exchange of land for the designation. This is holding up the passage of the bill and unfortunately, there is no federal land in that immediate area that could be exchanged for the designated land.

We need you to contact your Senator and ask them to request Senator Lee to remove his amendment request and allow HR 2497 to pass immediately.

The most effective way for you to reach your senator is to call them now and ask them to reach out to Senator Lee’s office. You can find your Senator’s phone number HERE.

Call both your senators and ask them to contact Senator Lee to remove his amendment request and allow HR 2497 to pass immediately. Be sure to tell the office why this is important to you, especially if your family was incarcerated at Amache or any of the other camps.

If you do not want to call, you can send an email message by following the link below.

Thank you for taking action to get the Amache National Historic Site Act passed!
